Dr. William Groff
Born and raised in Lancaster, Dr. William F. Groff, graduated from Penn State University, receiving a B.S. in Biology and Vertebrate Physiology. During medical school at PCOM in Philadelphia, he received the highly coveted U.S. Naval Health Professions Scholarship Award. After graduating at the top of his class, Dr. Groff moved to San Diego to begin his postgraduate work. Upon graduation, he was accepted into flight school at the U.S. Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute in Pensacola, Florida. As a Flight Surgeon, Dr. Groff was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California and accumulated over 200 hours of flight time in the F/A-18 Hornet. He also deployed to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Nimitz, accruing flight time and taking care of sick and injured Marines and Sailors.
After completing a 3-year flight tour at MCAS Miramar, Dr. Groff was selected into the Dermatology program at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his residency, he trained under one of the top cosmetic laser surgeons in the world. Upon graduation, Dr. Groff had performed more laser procedures than any other graduating resident in the country.Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, he spent 2 years as the Department Head of Dermatology and Laser Surgery at Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan. Dr. Groff has published over 15 articles in peer-reviewed dermatology and plastic surgery journals as well as participated in research that has led to the FDA approval of several cosmetic laser devices.
Recognized an expert in the field of cosmetic injectables, Dr. Groff serves as a trainer for Allergan Inc. (Botox Cosmetic®, Juvéderm®) and Medicis® Pharmaceutical Corp. (Restylane®, Perlane®, and Dysport®). In this role, Dr. Groff teaches other physicians advanced injection techniques using these products.
Having a true passion for cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery, Dr. Groff travels worldwide to lecture on the latest advances in these areas to fellow dermatologists and plastic surgeons. In the past 6 years, Dr. Groff has given over 100 lectures on these topics. Recent lectures include travel to the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Kuala Lumpur, China, and all over the United States.
Dr. Groff and his wife Stacey resided in San Diego for over 16 years and have moved back to Lancaster to raise their 2 daughters, Jenna Alexis and Piper Silk. Robert L. Roschel, M.D.
Dr. Roschel is a cum laude graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1958. While there he was elected to the honor scholarship fraternity, Alpha Omega Alpha. After serving a rotating internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he entered the United States Air Force and served in the Strategic Air Command as a Flight Surgeon. After leaving the service in 1961 he began a three year residency training in dermatology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completion of the program he entered the private practice of dermatology at 203 North Lime Street, succeeding Dr. Lewis M. Johnson, who had retired. Dr. Roschel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and maintains membership and actively serves in several regional and national dermatological societies. He is past president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology.Richard J. Herschaft, M.D.
Dr. Herschaft is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Richmond. While at college he was elected to membership in several honor and academic societies. He received his medical education at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, graduating in 1974. He served a medical-surgical internship at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts and then entered a three year dermatology residency at the Temple Skin and Cancer Hospital in Philadelphia. After his residency training he joined Dr. Roschel in the private practice of Dermatology.Dr. Herschaft is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology. He is active in several regional and national dermatological societies and is past president of the Lancaster City and County Medical Society.
